According to a statistic published by the Austrian Chamber of Labour, the proportion of women on the board of management of 200 companies with the highest turnover in Austria was only 8.9 percent. In the Global Gender Gap Report 2021 of the World Economic Forum (WEF), Austria ranks only 88th among 157 countries in terms of women’s economic participation. The Austrian subsidiaries of the Raan Group are therefore ringing in a new era in the recycling industry to coincide with the turn of the year: DI Eva Müller-Axmann Bsc. and Dr. Marisa Pia Scholz, LL.M. have taken over the management of the two subsidiaries RecycleMe GmbH and Reclay Systems GmbH with effect from December 7, 2022.
Eva Müller-Axmann joins Raffael A. Fruscio as managing director of RecycleMe GmbH, the internationally active consultancy for extended producer responsibility and sustainable packaging management, in Austria. Previously, she was responsible for leading the entire team in Austria as “Head of Consulting Austria” since July 2020. In the past three years, she and her team have succeeded in significantly developing the consulting business and doubling sales. In her new management position, Eva Müller-Axmann is now responsible for the complete strategic orientation and operational development of the company. Her goal is to network the Austrian team even more closely with international colleagues. The range of services for Austrian companies is to be further expanded and increasingly include international services.
Marisa Pia Scholz takes over the management of Reclay Systems GmbH together with Gottfried Bieglmayer. As a lateral entrant in the industry, she was responsible for the legal area in Austria and as an interface to foreign subsidiaries in her role as “Director Legal” since May 2022. As part of the management team, her responsibilities now also include strategic management and the operational expansion of new business areas.
The managing directors of the sister companies RecycleMe and Reclay Systems intend to continue working closely together within the Raan Group in the future. “We are very much looking forward to our new tasks. In Austria, there is still great potential in the areas of circular economy and packaging recycling. We want to take advantage of the dynamic that currently exists at the political and social level to exploit the maximum potential,” explain Eva Müller-Axmann and Marisa Pia Scholz.
Sabrina Goebel and Christian Abl have handed over the operational management of RecycleMe GmbH and Reclay Systems GmbH, respectively, as of December 7, 2022, to focus from now on on their international responsibility for the Consulting and Recycling business units in the entire Raan Group, mother company of Reclay Systems GmbH and RecycleMe GmbH.
Eva Müller-Axmann, who was born in Carinthia, successfully completed her master’s degree in environmental and bioresource management at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, during which she specialized in waste management. Before joining the Raan Group, she had already worked for many years in the waste management industry, most recently being responsible for business development at the waste management company Brantner.
Marisa Pia Scholz, born in Upper Austria and raised in the district of Mödling, studied law at the University of Vienna and completed her doctoral studies with distinction at the University of Vienna and the Sorbonne in Paris. Afterwards, she graduated from the University of Vienna, also with honors, with a master’s degree in information law and legal information.
Before joining the Raan Group last year, Marisa Pia Scholz worked for many years in copyright and collecting society law as an agency head at the Ministry of Justice and most recently as a managing director in film licensing.
