Well-maintained master data is the be-all and end-all of sustainable packaging management!
The amount of the fee for licensing packaging each year depends largely on the weight and material of the individual packaging components. It is therefore essential to determine this master data correctly and to store the products in the system. RecycleMe customers, such as large retail companies with a wide range of several thousand products or international online retailers, face enormous challenges in this regard.
Weighing packaging – for many, this sounds like a quick task that can be easily and simply done by oneself. But in reality, it is more than just determining the weight: for example, all packaging must be properly documented before weighing, labels must be completely removed, and each component must be recorded individually. Everything must be documented in a comprehensible way, and not just for the purposes of an audit. Companies that supply to several markets often have to comply with different licensing regulations: for example, different product categories may have to be reported or different size specifications may apply to distinguish between product and transport packaging.
Ideally, the determined weights are therefore automatically stored in a digital master database for each individual product, so that packaging weights are available at the push of a button for licence volume reports. This also makes it easy to take into account individual requirements for each sales market.
Detailed determination of all master data
