As of January 1st, 2023, certain persons who are not domiciled in Austria are required to appoint an authorized representative for the removal of their packaging and/or certain single-use plastic products.
The obligation to appoint an authorized representative applies to mail order companies that place packaging on the market in Austria from abroad to private consumers, as well as to foreign distance sellers of certain companies, i.e. with headquarters in EU countries or in third countries. If you supply other than private consumers in Austria from outside of Austria, then an obligation MAY arise for you. This has to be checked in each individual case.
The authorized representative assumes the legal packaging obligations for the company and is responsible for compliance with Austrian administrative regulations. We can offer you the service as authorized representative via our sister company AuthoriseMe.
